Dissolution of OSDA

I would like to thank everyone who has participated in the events and the operation of the Open Systems Database Association over the years.

Unfortunately, the interest in the group has fallen off to the point where it was no longer practical or financially feasible to continue operations.

Notice was posted on July 19, 2007 of a motion before the board of directors for dissolution of the organization, and for anyone owed money by the organization to contact John Powers, treasurer for resolution. Ninety days passed and since no one came forward stating that they were owed money by the group, a vote was called for dissolution.

A vote was held on the 17th of October, 2007 to vote on the Motion to dissolve the organization.

Eighty-eight percent of those eligible to vote, voted in favor of dissolution. Therefore according to the by-laws which stipulate that 75 percent or more of the voting members must agree for dissolution, the organization will be dissolved under the laws of the State of Florida.

The balance of the treasury will be donated to Larry Johansen's favorite charity, Lighthouse for the Blind.
